Landlord-Tenant Representation
The key to an amicable landlord-tenant relationship is having a clear understanding of each party’s responsibilities, which are set forth in the Residential Landlord and Tenant Act.
Through my practice at Andrew M. Cagen, Attorney at Law, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, I represent both landlords and tenants who run into legal difficulties.
I handle:
- Nonpayment of rent cases. An eviction for nonpayment of rent is an exacting process that requires compliance with the Residential Landlord and Tenant Act.
- Termination of tenancies. The Residential Landlord and Tenant Act sets forth certain requirements to terminate a tenancy, and this is an area in which I have expertise.
- Other landlord-tenant matters. The Residential Landlord Tenant Act provides for various other rights and remedies for which I can offer my services.
- Lease preparation. I can provide advice on whether to have a written lease and under what terms and prepare a lease.
